Name: Firepaw
Nickname: Fire (if any)
Rank: Alpha
Pack: Ember Pack
Age: 4 Summers
Appearance: Firepaw has striking orange eyes with a slice of a light green through them, with brown fur to accent these eyes and a bulky, quite large build. In stature, he’s at the larger end of the size spectrum, and his muscles certainly add to this appearance. Firepaw’s wings are similar to that of an eagle’s – covered with feathers and a color that’s as close to the color of his fur as possible, while still retaining a different color than his fur. The feathers around the tips of his wings are tipped with white, but still mainly brown, and combine that to the fact that Firepaw has large, noticeable scars on his wings and body, and you have a wolf that’s hard to forget.
Personality:
Firepaw is a very easily angered male with a nasty temper, but for the most part, he’s also quick to forgive. He’s not too great at holding grudges, or at clinging to his anger, but when in the grip of his anger, Firepaw is a nasty sight. The rest of his emotions are just as fiery – Firepaw is an all or nothing kind of wolf. He’ll be furious, or he won’t be angry at all. He’ll be nearly sobbing, or he won’t be sad. That’s just the way he is, and while it’s not very useful when you’re an Alpha, he’s slowly but steadily learning to control his feelings and to feel in moderation.
Firepaw is also quite the proud male. If you insult his pack or his family, he will rip you into shreds without a single regret. To him, keeping a good public face up is the singular most important thing he’ll ever do. He’ll hide things that could put him in a bad light to the point of fighting with anyone who threatens to reveal anything that could hurt his image.
Despite his pride, he’s quite insecure. Firepaw is always wondering if the members of the pack would hate him if they knew what had really gone on in his life and if they’d really stand with him if they knew how he became Alpha. He might not regret what he did, but he does regret that no one else sees it the way he does. He feels that he’s standing on shaky ground and if he’s caught fishing for compliments, it’s not much of a surprise to anyone. He’s always fishing for compliments, and sometimes he’s more subtle than others
And despite all of this, he has a sense of listlessness, like he’s drifting with no destination in mind. He might lead a pack, but he feels as if he’s lost the will to live, in a way. His drive and willpower were all focused on one thing; kill Sunny. And now that Sunny’s gone (and presumed dead) Firepaw doesn’t know what to do.
History: Born to Shadowfang and Matsi Starfire, Firepaw had a fairly boring beginning of his life. He played with his siblings, met another litter of pups who were adopted into his pack, that kind of thing. He capered around and played with Sunny and Ice, unaware of anything that could hurt him in this world.
It all changed when Icepelt was taken by the humans, though. His relationship with Sunny fell apart, and he withdrew from the pack, determined to prove himself worthy of following in his father’s footsteps. He met Sade, who claimed to be a changed wolf, and refused to believe him, attacking the evil male, even as Sunny attempted to stop them. Sade’s lies were things he refused to hear, and his relationship with his brother disintegrated completely when the Omega pup listened to the venomous male’s lies.
After attempting to collapse the tunnel that they’d been found in to seal Sade in (and Sunny as well. He had to end the betrayals), Firepaw moved on with life, assuming mistakenly that both issues were taken care of. Sunny and Sade returned, leaving Firepaw to sort out a world of a mess.
And Icepelt came back as well, too. His entire family was back again, and meanwhile, Firepaw was sorting out confusing feelings involving two females in his life. He had plenty of issues. And even then, when the humans attacked, Firepaw was still struggling with his feelings, and shot several times after trying to save his friends.
He ran away after that. He’s not particularly proud of his running, but he couldn’t deal with the fractured pack dynamics anymore. His aunt was leading the pack, and that was too strange. Sunny had disappeared again, and this time, Firepaw ran off as well.
3 summers have passed since that day, three summers of wandering aimlessly. Firepaw didn’t particularly enjoy it, but at least he wasn’t sorting out his feelings anymore.
When he returned to his old pack’s lands due to the words of a loner named Fornae, he expected to find a pack, expected that Fornae had lied to him. Instead he found rubble. However, this was his chance, and he wasn’t going to pass it up. After an invitation to Fornae to join his pack, Firepaw set about making the lands his.
Marking his territory with an air of pride, Firepaw finally became the Alpha he’d always dreamed of being.
