Name: Gingerfang
Nickname: Ginger or occasionally Fang
Rank: Loner
Pack: None
Age: 2 summers
Appearance: As a Maned Wolf, Ginger looks very much like a stretched out fox. Her limbs look rather long for her body, and her ears are proportionately larger than the average wolf's. Her fur is a red color, with black socks and a black "mane" marks her back and head. Ginger's eyes are brown in color, with little variation, except for a very small strip of a lighter brown in her right eye. Her pelt, while thick, is heavily marred by scars, with a thick concentration along her legs and lower chest. They are a testimony to the fights that Ginger has survived, as is her bulky build, inherited straight from her father, just as her coloration and leg length was inherited straight from her mother. Ginger has no wings, nor does she have markings other than those scars.
Personality: Ginger is a rebellious young wolf, disobeying most orders she gets just because she can. For her, orders are useless, though, as Ginger knows she knows best. Some might assume that because of this that Ginger is conceited, but she's just rebellious. She likes to do things her way and if it doesn't work, she'll try someone else's way, as long as they don't attempt to make her do something. How do you think she got so many scars?
She is a rather sullen young wolf. She is not particularly happy very much of the time, and Ginger is mostly quiet, spreading her gloom around by lack of reply to what other wolves say and giving a general air of finding the world stupid and not worth her time. For all that she might appear detached and uncaring, though, Ginger has a fiery temper. The few times she isn't acting sullen, she's either marginally happy or snapping at someone, claws extended. For Ginger, fighting is her lifeblood, and she enjoys the feeling of sinking her claws into the pelt of other wolves. Blood thirsty and sullen is not a good combination, though...
Ginger is most definitely a guarded soul. Her past is kept close to her heart, as are most things that could hurt her. She is not very likely to spill her secrets to anyone, close friends or not. Along with that, Ginger dislikes personal topics, especially about her history. She'll discuss her mother or dead brother with anyone, but her father and other siblings are a taboo subject with her and she will close down quite firmly when someone attempts to discuss that kind of thing with her.
It takes a lot to get Ginger attached to other wolves, and she generally remains detached from the wolves who attempt to become friends with the maned wolf. When she does get attached to others, though, she is an invaluable friend, protecting these friends or mates or anything similar with everything available to her and she loves them with every fiber of her being.
History: Her mother was a maned wolf. Her father? A burly male timber wolf who spoke to ghosts. Her mother had no powers. Their children were named the way Shadespeaker's pack would have named them had they been born to his pack, and also in the way Ariana's pack would have. Cor and Leena were named by their mother, and Silentheart, the Omega pup, and Gingerfang were named by her father. Silent, Cor, Leena, and Ginger. They were a happy family, but it was not destined to last. The first blow came to the happy pups when sickness struck the pack. Silent was the first to succumb to the disease, and died within the week. Cor contracted it next, but recovered, if barely. Leena and Ginger dodged the blow of the sickness altogether, and helped tend their siblings while they sickened.
The pups and their parents were heartbroken by the death of Silent, except for Shade, who seemed to be hardened to this kind of thing. Ariana noticed this, as did the pups. They all reacted differently to it. Ariana cornered Shade and learned the truth about his previous mate and the pups he had had. All of them had been killed, as far as he knew. Ginger had hardened herself to him, turning away from any comfort Shade could have offered, as had Cor, but Leena followed her father like a shadow, hoping to learn how to harden herself from hurt as he had.
After the death of Silent, they coped in their own ways. Cor and Ginger drew closer, Leena farther, and Ariana farthest of all. The once tightly knit family had fallen apart, like a bandaid had been ripped from skin, and what was revealed was not pretty. Ariana fell for another male, who spoke silky words and flattered her while Shade watched on, not moving to stop the relationship. Ariana assumed he did not care, and left Shade. The fight they'd had that night was terrifying for all that watched, including Cor and Ginger. To see the pain in Shade's eyes and the hurt in their mother's had really hurt the two siblings. After that night, Shade left, leaving Ariana to mate with Horan. She would never have another litter of pups, though, Shade's final curse.
For Cor and Ginger, it was extremely hard, but for Leena, it was torture. The young female left the pack, chasing after her father soon after. The original family of 6 had faded to a family of 3, and then to two as Ginger left. Cor and Ariana stayed, though, building a new home from the ashes of their old life.
Ginger ran, fighting and killing anyone who stood in her way. Her outer wounds healed quickly, but her inner wounds did not. With the death cry of the wolves she destroyed, nothing inside her changed. The death of strangers would not bring Silent, Leena, or her father back, Ginger finally realized. It took time, but she no longer fought. It was around this time, the time that she finally began to heal, that she met the older male named Fornae. He listened to her, and did not pry, and for that she stayed with him. The male guided her to a pack that had been rumored to be her father's pack - the Cave Pack - and now they finally draw near. Now Ginger finally has the chance to see the land that her father had lived on.
Kin:
Father - Shadespeaker [Shade]
Mother - Ariana
Siblings - Cor [M], Leena [F], and Silentheart [M, deceased]
Power: Ginger is capable of speaking to deceased wolves, much like her father, though she has no interest in using this skill, for the most part, and she is incapable of binding "ghosts" into her service as her father could.
