Keaira trotted through the portion of the forest she had claimed, following the edges of her land and watching for intruders. Most who came onto her territory found this to be the easiest route so she made a habit of patrolling it more often than anywhere else. The shackles on her front legs rubbed uncomfortably and she paused to lick at the edges of the welts they left. They always pained her, but she had been unable so far to find a way to remove them. No matter how cold she made them, she always gave up before they did.
Her mind wandered back to the day they had been put on her, and cursed every human in her mind as she so often did. They were evil. Even if she hadn't been there to see the destruction they wreaked on the land she now claimed, she would still think so. She despised them with an icy hatred that never thawed or warmed.
Coming back to herself, she noticed a thin film of ice covering her paws. She gently broke free of it and continued on her way. It was dangerous for her to remain in one place for very long out in the open like this. If she wasn't careful, an enemy could approach while she was hampered by the ice that followed wherever she went. Her attention went back to her surroundings, checking for signs that a wolf had entered her lands since the last time she had been here.

He walked with his head slightly low, his silvery eyes watching thr ground. An old habit that he had yet to break. No sparks lept from his creamy gold heels as he moved, for no emotion moved in his heart. He was alone, it was as simple as that.
Padding forward on his three legs, Sunny wandered aimlessly through the lands that he once called home. This was his nineth time being back here since the human attack, at least. He had gone from these lands, to the northern lands where Callan was born, and to the old human lab where he was taken as a pup, searching for his dear daughter. His howl was often heard, crying to the stars for the return of his daughter, his one light in hid life, but fate frowned upon his request it seemed. It only seemed to lead him back here, to the furthest lands that were once his mothers. He dared not to enter his brothers lands anymore, he did not want to fight his brother. Sure they disagreed alot, but he was still his brother, and he loved him as such. But that was all behind him now, or for the moment.
His stomach roared and growled at him, but he ignored the hunger pangs, his mind empty, his spirit still, and his sights shallow.

Keaira's overlong ears twitched. She heard something, but it sounded odd. Like a wolf but one with a strange gait that she hadn't heard before. Her nose lifted, searching the air for the scent of the strange wolf walking toward her lands. She found it. It was a male, and he was right...there! She heard his stomach protest a recent lack of meals and leaped through the brush to land right in front of him. She stood as tall as she could, wings upraised, tail high and proud, and eyes beginning to glow yellow as she turned the air around them cold.
Her breath came out in a fog as she said, "Who are you? What are you doing on my lands?" Simple and to the point. Now she could see why his walk sounded so strange. He was missing a leg, but it didn't seem to hamper his movements. The rest of him was muscled and strong, and she knew that he would be no easy opponent if it came to a fight. But she had to know why he was here. Did he think that a lone female was incapable of holding her own lands? Would he try to take them from her? Well, she would like to see him try. She would beat him back just like all the others if she had to.

Sunny only raised his head, his own wings, hackles and lips staying down at a emotionless level. His eyes looked at the female for a moment. ''SunFire. Delta of the FrostPack that once roamed this lands. Now nothing but a searching loner,'' He spoke in a fiery voice that was extreamly similar to his fathers. His eyes betrayed no emotion, not that he was feeling really any. He could tell that she was expecting a fight, but he would not give it to her, though he was not below protecting himself.
''Whom do I have the...privelage...of speaking to?'' he asked in a monotoned voice, his eyes drifting back to the ground as he looked at his black claws. They were worn from miles of walking on tough ground, useless in a fight. He snorted to himself as looked back at the female.

It seemed that this...SunFire...had no intention of fighting her. She relaxed ever so slightly from battle ready to dominant. It wasn't much of a change, but her hackles lowered and her eyes stopped their glowing, letting the air temperature return to normal. She lifted each of her paws, hearing the chink of broken ice as she did so, and shook out her fur and feathers. Small ice fragments fell from her pelt to litter the ground around her.
"I am Keaira, SunFire former Beta. I have claimed these lands as my own as the Silent Pack territory." She refrained from telling him that there were no other members of her pack at the moment. He didn't really need to know that. Besides, it wasn't her fault that no one worthy of becoming part of her pack had come along yet. It was only a matter of time until someone proved their worth to her. "What do you search for on my lands?"
She was no longer expecting a fight, he seemed too depressed to initiate a confrontation, but that didn't mean she would let down her guard. There was no telling what someone would do with a territory on the line. A member of her old pack had taught her that a long time ago. Now she had to decide if this male was a threat, a possible ally, or someone to ignore as harmless.

Sunny snarled slightly and glared at her with icy eyes as he began padding forward again. ''Missing peices,'' was all that he said for her question. He did not want to go into detail of what it was he was looking for, the thoughts already burning in his mind, making it bleed with memories.
He walked on, the tip of his tail dragging slightly through the soil. His ears were half pinned now, why? He didn't really know. Something in his stomach pulled him back towards Keaira, almost as if fate was wanting to give him a break, but He had long since stopped listening to his stomach. Fate was alway against him.
But maybe it would change? He stopped again and starred at the ground, thinking. A heavy sigh escaped him, sending purple and black sparks into the air. What was he to do?
